Heaven has a point of entry--a gate, and must therefore have walls. Walls prevent evil from entering. And since selfishness is the root of all evil, heaven must be the absence of selfishness. If Christians truly wish to go to heaven, a place where no selfishness exists, they would make an effort to create heaven on earth. They would not only minimize their own selfishness, but in their desire to achieve a Selfless Utopian Society (or “Heaven on Earth”), they would be the least selfish people on our planet—charitable, living frugal lifestyles. Yet many so-called “Christians” are wealthy, excessively indulgent advocates of the Prosperity Gospel. They cling to self-serving biases in order to justify their selfishness while outright ignoring Jesus’ request to give up earthly possessions and follow him.
These “Christians” interpret Scripture literally only when it is convenient for them. They will give a thousand reasons why following the unmistakeable words expressed by Jesus himself could not possibly be interpreted in a manner that accurately conveys God’s true intentions:Matthew 19:23-26. I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. As previously mentioned, if heaven is the absence of selfishness, then to create heaven on earth, they would minimize their own selfish behavior. Yet, there is a threshold where basic needs are satisfied and the fear of an uncertain future is no longer a concern. It is at this point where we are asked to turn our attentions toward helping the downtrodden reach this same level of security and fulfillment. When we do this, we create a world that is as close to heaven as it gets, An unselfish world where everyone has equal opportunities to add value to our flexibly cooperative society in their own unique ways. A world where everyone can achieve ultimate joy by finding meaning and actualizing purpose in their lives.
Any Christian whose lifestyle opposes this godly vision is selfish and doesn't truly wish to go to heaven; otherwise they would try as best they can to create heaven on earth. God understands our hearts. He knows whether we are overly concerned about our own well-being. He knows whether we truly care to improve the lives of others.
Our true intentions are demonstrated in everything we do, and it is also reflected in our political ideologies. If you are a privileged member of society who cares only to protect your privileges, then you are not making an effort to advance God's ultimate plan. One thing you never want to do: Watch someone you love, that has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away & sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death. You want to grab & shake them & say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point, you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves.
Battling a drug and/or alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted & the ones who love them. It’s very hard to watch them cycle through the drinking(or drugs), making stupid mistakes, one right after another. Try to recover and become a normal person for a while until something triggers them back into bad habits.So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer/and or meditation for every family member & friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs & alcohol & those who continue to conquer it! Put this on your page for one hour if you know someone who struggles with addiction. Many will be hesitant to copy & paste this. Some of you won't copy & paste this.I think I know who will.
